1. Imagine the shapes and patterns
Before making the structure, imagine what the future baby mobile will look like. Stars, flowers, feathers, clouds, hearts, rabbits, cats ... you can choose according to whether it is a girl or a boy but you can also make a mobile for a mixed baby. Here, we are going to make a mobile with small pompoms of different colors, pearls, and pretty wooden feathers. To make the rendering even more fun, play on shapes, materials, and colors.
2. Cut your strings
Once the color of your tassels has been chosen, your wooden beads and feathers ready to be used, cut as many pieces of string as there are tassels, beads, and feathers to hang. Here, we suggest you cut 8 pieces of string. Their size corresponds to the height of the desired mobile, so take the necessary measures. Again, play along the length of the strings so that the result is unique. Bring out your creative side as a super parent!
3. Pass the string through the pompoms
Start by threading a wooden bead. Tie a knot with the string so that the pearl is fixed. Then make a hole in the pompoms by passing the string through it like a skewer. Tie a knot under each pompom to secure it. Mix the colors for a nice rendering. At the end of the strings, put 2 pearls, still fixed with the knots and at the end of 4 of the 8 strings, hang a feather using several knots.
4. Get a wooden circle
Your mobile is ready to be suspended and you can proceed to the realization of the structure. Several options are available to you. On the one hand, you have the structure to make yourself. On the other, the ready-made frame that you can find in a DIY store or on the internet (metal or wooden circle for example). To suspend our pretty pompoms, we offer the second option. Get a wooden circle to hang the strings on it.
5. Connect the strings to the circle
When the strings are all lined with pompoms, pearls and wooden feathers, make 8 holes in the circle, using a drill. Measure your circle so that your holes are all equally spaced. Once the holes made, pass your strings inside and make big knots to fix them well to the structure. Leave an extra length to hang the circle on the structure.
6. Hang your mobile
You have just made a nice mobile for your baby, all you have to do is hang it above his bed. For this, we will realize the second part of the structure. Make a hole in one of the sticks with the drill so as to thread the other stick into it horizontally. Attach the rods to each other, then connect the horizontal rod to the wooden circle with the strings and voila! Attach the pretty mobile on the future baby bed.
